The short version: I spent the summer of 2012 traveling in my hometown and home province like I do when I’m traveling “away.”
The long version: I got help. My travel was limited. Limited time-wise to weekends and limited financially by having to rent cars. It was mostly be daytrips for the same reason.
The updated version: Operation Hometown Traveler 2013 is already underway. New adventures will be added as quickly as I can add them!
Through Operational Hometown Traveler, I’ll do my best to show Nova Scotians and visitors alike there are lots of fun things to do, see, and eat here. I’ve often said being a traveler is a matter of perspective. Since I don’t get to travel abroad as much as I’d like, I treat my home province like an unexplored destination. Using published travel guides and information from tourism promotion organizations, sourcing through social media, and good ol’ fashioned recommendations, I’m seeking out fun, unique things to see in every part of the province.

I thik this is wonderful. I act like a tourist in my hometown, too. (Cincinnati) I’m always amazed at the number of native Cincinnatians who aren’t familiar with all our city has to offer. They’re really missing out! I’ve moved away several times, but always come back. I love my town.
You sound like a great ambassador! I strongly believe residents are their hometown’s best promoters!
