Favourite photos: Tobogganing, Sahara Desert-style

While travelling through Morocco, my group went on an overnight camel trek in the Sahara Desert. The desert is endless and beautiful, and empty, except for the occasional group of camel trekkers. Imagine our surprise when we encountered a group of boys participating the most Canadian of pursuits: tobogganing.

Instead of sleds or Krazy Karpets, they used the sturdy plastic bags found everywhere in the country. They couldn’t have been less interested in us, but we enjoyed their every step. Watching as long as the camels would let us. While I love the spring in this little guy’s step in the still image, the video speaks for itself: sand tobogganing is crazy fun.
